Our Workforce Development Department provides the means opportunities for adults, youth, and dislocated workers to learn new skills and prepare for employment

Workforce Investment Act Programs

Adult and Dislocated Worker programs are funded by the Department of Labor through the Workforce Investment Act, providing eligible individuals with career counseling, pre-vocational preparation, basic skills improvement, on-the-job training, occupational skills training, and job search assistance. The goal is to assist them in obtaining gainful employment in Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, and Wyoming Counties.

Employment Advancement and Retention Network (EARN)-

This program was developed to address the needs of parents recieving cash assistance with barriers to employment. EARN is designed to provide intensive case management, education, training, work activities, job placement, and supportive services to enable individuals to move from dependence to independence through successful employment. 

Youth Program-

When an eligible youth is seeking assistance in achieving academic and professional sucess, the Workforce Investment Act provides comprehensive activities that encourage school completion and the furthering of education while promoting uselful linkages to employers.

Work Ready Program-

This program was developed to address the needs of welfare reipients with barriers to employment. Work Ready is designed to provide intense case management, education, training, work activities, job placement, and supportive services to clients that recieve cash assistance. This program aims to help individuals move rapidly from dependence to independence by using their employment. 

Worldwide Interactive Network/ WorkKeys Assessment-

Designed to match essential job skills with employee knowlege and ability, teh Worldwide Interactive Network and WorkKeys Assessments function to provide job seekers and employers with valuable training and information. Clients work through practice tests before taking a standardized WorkKeys exam in a controlled environment. Scores will allow for an understanding of strengths and weaknesses to estabilish a plan for becoming a more marketable employee.
