The Schoolhouse Hill housing development in Mehoopany, Wyoming County broke ground on June 9, 2012. This $4.7 million development will provide housing for 20 senior residents aged 55 and older, and is financed under the auspices of PHFA’s Low Income Tax Credit program. It is expected to be at full occupancy on September 1, 2013. The development is the result of a partnership between Trehab and Monarch Development Group, LLC. The developments are designed to be rented to senior citizens living within 60% of the county average. The design allows for 18 one-bedroom apartments, 2 two-bedroom apartments and 2 handicapped accessible units. A municipal park, the public library, the post office, the municipal building, and a restaurant are all within walking distance of the development site.
