Helping People and Communities

The Trehab Community Action Agency is committed to act as both a service provider and an advocate for the poor, unemployed, and underemployed, the elderly, and other groups at risk. The agency is committed to serving the community as a catalyst for asset building and by helping to increase access to capital.

Trehab began in Lackawanna County in 1970 as Treatment and Rehabilitation Services of Northeastern Pennsylvania. In the intervening years, the organization has vastly expanded both its service area and programs. While still offering drug and alcohol treatment services, Trehab now also offers a wide array of comprehensive programming designed to empower those in need and address the various barriers to success – including workforce services, housing counseling, community services, and transportation assistance.  In response to the housing crunch resulting from the influx of Marcellus Shale activity into the area, Trehab also continues to construct and operate affordable housing developments.

We serve six rural counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania, having branches in Tioga, Bradford, Susquehanna, Sullivan, Wyoming, and Wayne Counties. Explore this website for more information on Trehab’s programs, or call (570) 278-3338 to reach the main admin office.
