Pay it Forward

Seventh graders Elizabeth Lyden and Liam Mead collected non-perishable foods for Trehab's Susquehanna County food banks, as part of a pay it forward project for Reading class.  The youth distributed fliers explaining the project and asking community members to leave non-perishable foods in a bag by their door.  Liam and Elizabeth then went around and collected the food on December 8th, the pick-up day designated on the flier.  Shortly thereafter they delivered the donations to the food bank, impressing the food bank's director with the amount of food this project brought in.

Thank you Elizabeth and Liam for paying it forward in this wonderful way!  Thank you also to their parents, educator, and all the community members who helped them help pantry customers.

You make a difference.
