A New Way to Help

3/14/2013

Susquehanna County Transportation provides the only public shared-ride service in rural Susquehanna County.  Eligible seniors, disabled persons, and eligible medical assistance recipients are able to access transportation at free or reduced fares.  Destinations may include medical appointments, food banks, grocery stores, etc.   The transportation programs are sponsored byPA Department of Welfare, Penndot, and Area Agency on Aging, etc. For some passengers however, even this discounted fare represents a financial burden.

SCT is now offering a way to alleviate this burden through the purchase of transportation gift certificates. Gift certificates can be purchased in any increment through the SCT office in South Montrose, and can be applied to the account of a friend, loved one, or neighbor.  This money will then be used to offset that passenger’s out-of-pocket expenses. Certificates can also be purchased unassigned, and will be applied to accounts where there is need.

Please contact Susquehanna County Transportation at (570) 278-6140 or toll-free at 1-866-278-9332 for details.   Certificates can be also be purchase through our secure on-line donation page (select Transportation Certificates from the Donation Types menu).
