Project Grow It

Five youth were selected for the YOUTH program to participate in a Paid Work Experience at TREHAB in Susquehanna, PA. The youth learned how to make Seed Tape. The youth and their instructor enjoyed doing the project together. The purpose was to teach the youth about seeding arrangement in the garden in order to prevent thinning out the young plants at a later date. The youth also learned how to grow potatoes in a trash bag .It was a fun way to get the youth interested in gardening. During their work experience the youth were also involved in a painting project. They also assisted with other general maintenance duties.

The youth were introduced to the Win Soft assessment program to assist them with Work readiness

Several other youth were placed in their local communities for work experiences at the Susquehanna Home Center and Montrose High School.

*Work experiences provide the YOUTH with valuable work history, work ethics and career exploration options.
