After multiple tests and ironing out a few glitches, we are excited to report that our on-line donation system is working correctly. We apologize if anyone encountered these glitches previously. Affordable Housing Award Received
Trehab representatives recently accepted a PHFA 2011 Excellence in Property Management Award for the agency's work with the Oak Ridge Townhouses project in Towanda, Bradford County. The development, which opened for occupancy in 2009, provided that town with 40 new affordable living spaces. The award was given based on the development's finances, general management, and physical condition.

Feed a Friend 2011
Last week, the annual Feed-a-Friend program, run in collaboration with WNEP Channel 16, was completed. With the assistance of many community volunteers and supporters, over 900 bags were packed and dispersed from the Montrose and Susquehanna food bank locations. Need a Day Away?
Need a Day Away? The Susquehanna County Transportation Service (operated by Trehab) has a fun opportunity now available to area residents. On Wednesdays seniors (aged 65+) can book a trip to Dickson City to go shopping. Trips are to arrive in the city around 10 in the morning. Fees are very reasonable; read more for details. Big Moves at Trehab
Three Trehab departments have been busily packing and moving recently. The Susquehanna food bank and (most of) the Workforce Development personnel in Susquehanna have switched offices. (Workforce Core Services are still located at the same location.) The food bank is now located at 1226 West Main Street in the Station House building, and Workforce is in the old food bank building at 1017 West Main

Sometimes it takes a few tries to find your niche. At least it did for BethAnn Hearn. After working several different jobs in several months, BethAnn started working as an independent contractor for DR Well Site Services. She was shortly hired on as a member of their team and promoted to manager. She loves her job!

Thank you for your help! Trehab didn't quite make it to the top 100 in the Chase Community Giving competition. With your help however, we came close. At the final ranking Trehab was in 114th place, a mere 67 votes from 100th place. For a first-time competitor charity coming out of rural NEPA, that is a victory in and of itself. The Moment of Nines
September is International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Awareness month. Every year since 1999, churches have helped raise awareness by symbolically ringing church bells to recognize the nine months a pregnant woman should abstain from alcohol use in an event called "The Moment of Nines". The only Trehab office affected by the recent floods was the Wyoming County Workforce Development office, which took in close to 7 feet of water.
