Foreclosure Intervention

As a result of the national mortgage crisis and in response to its impact on Trehab's service area, Trehab is now offering foreclosure intervention and mitigation counseling in six counties (Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne, and Wyoming).  Trehab is a HUD Approved Housing Counseling Agency and provides counseling and other assistance to homeowners who have a mortgage that is threatened by foreclosure.  There are different types of assistance that may be available to the homeowner,  depending on his or her financial situation.

Trehab counselors will work with you to explore available options and alternatives to foreclosure that are offered by government agencies,  as well through assistance from private and community organizations.  Counselors will also review precautions that you should take to avoid falling into a foreclosure scam.
Remember,  if you are having problems making your mortgage payment,  contact your lender as soon as possible to explain your situation.  A lender needs your cooperation to pursue alternatives to foreclosure.
To speak to a Trehab Foreclosure Intervention counselor please call:  Corky Staats at (570) 278-5238.
